Gender segregated religious schools with potential lack of sex education suggest certain religious customs can cause homosexuality
A survey of religious Zionist high school teens found that many who attend same-sex schools still engage in sexual activity and are more likely than their co-ed peers to have a romantic relationship with a member of the same sex.Well, it's clear that "Orthodoxy" as practiced in modern times, has been nothing short of a whole disaster, though I realize even Christianity may have similar problems, and even Islam likely has this issue too, and the Religion of Peace most likely has far less intention of admitting it. This all beggars the question, why do Orthodox Judaists think it's such a calamity if teen boys and girls fall for each other before marriage? Those who enforced the kind of atrocities they have all these years should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
The results, based on a questionnaire that made the round of over 1,000 high schoolers in Israel, have sent shockwaves through the religious Zionist community in Israel, where sexual health issues are often shunted to the margins. [...]
High numbers of both boys and girls reported masturbating, many of them regularly, as well as watching pornography.
According to Kaplan, many of these respondents attended schools where sex education would not be addressed until 12th grade and even then framed in the context of monogamous family life.
“My research shows that we cannot wait that long. We need to give teenagers the tools to navigate sexuality, including shame and guilt, and make sure that if they are ready to touch someone, they do it in the right way,” she said.
Some 10% of those who took the survey reported having sexual contact with someone of the same sex, including kissing and intercourse. For those at same-sex schools, the figure rose to 13% of boys and 12% of girls, while only 7% of boys and 9% of girls at mixed schools reported the same experiences.Notice how the boys' figure is slightly higher than that of the girls? Clearly, the way boys have been raised in religious framework has been nothing short of a fiasco. If male homosexuality is considered a worse example than lesbianism, the religious parents and schools who put their sons through this tommyrot have really brewed themselves up a disaster, and potential misogyny to boot.
“What my research highlights is that also parents who send their kids to same-sex educational frameworks still need to talk about sexuality,” Kaplan said. “Sexual energy cannot be completely suppressed.”It may not be unusual when girls have lesbian mindsets (and from what I know, lesbianism was accepted in certain ways in biblical times), but when it's boys having homosexual mindsets, it's certainly problematic, because what if it leads to abusive behavior towards the fairer sex? Many religious people may not understand or realize this, but they put the keys in the ignition for a lot of the LGBTQ disaster seen over the past decade, and they're going to have to start reevaluating their beliefs and asking if they can really follow customs that cause more harm than good in the long run. If they really want their children to be able to relate to the opposite sex properly, they have to give them real sex education, and if they're to have sexual relations, maybe it'd be a good idea to teach how to have safe sex? If that were to be emphasized as a custom, it could have potential to improve things for the better.
Among the survey’s more surprising findings was that 39% of all female respondents said they had felt attracted to another girl, and 38% had questioned their sexual orientation, compared to 23% of boys for both questions. [...]
She noted that the survey found those who attended gender-segregated schools were more likely to question their orientation than those at co-ed schools.
